Picket Gray and Harvard Red

I've have been on an endless search for a paint code and/or source for Picket Gray and Harvard Red. I have a half dozen old codes for each from all the old paint chip cards floating around the internet but no one I contact can match or find anything in their "systems". I've called Sherwin Williams, Eastwood, Advance Auto, local body shops, paint supply shops in Washington DC and Baltimore (I live southeast of DC)...nothing!
Only thing I can find is TCP Global Restoration Shop at over $300 a gallon (before tax and shipping).
Someone out there has to know how to get this paint. I'll drive to find it. I go up and down the east coast between DC area and Connecticut often. I really didn't think deciding to paint an original color would be this difficult.

I had to dig to find what year group those paints came from.  You're going back a ways (I found them on a '46-'47 chip sheet).  I see you posted on the 2A page; good idea.

While I didn't have an issue matching mine, I could understand the issue with pigments no longer available.  I did a search and found this thread with a lengthy explanation on how this becomes a challenge.

That thread had two additional references, near the bottom was for a business in Michigan.  Also there was a www:/ address link, on an earlier post, that had this (when I searched for 46 Willys):

Not sure if what's provided can be used by a paint store to get close enough or not, but I clicked on the codes in that table and it took me to Ditzler codes.

Was that your original color?  If it was the underside of the tool box lid may have good paint on it.  You could take the lid in and have it scanned to match the color.  That might be your best bet since paints have change do much since the 40s.  My 49 was Picket gray with red wheels.
