As many of you may know, I founded
www.oldwillysforum.com in 2009, and have spent the last 10 years wrenching on my 1960 Willys Wagon and helping my son build his 1951 Wagon.

Last week, I bought my first CJ, at '52 3A.
Joseph and I drove 150 miles to pick it up, and after looking it over and taking it for a spin, drug it home.
It is remarkably rust free, no holes anywhere in the tub. The front passenger fender is the worst of the body. It runs great, drives and stops. However, there is about a half turn in the steering wheel before anything connects in the Ross box... and the brakes are leaking and master cylinder isn't releasing like it should after stomping on the brakes.
It has had a hard life though, it's been hammered all the way around.
It has an early casting 2A L134, and an unknown bellhousing.
Oddly, the rear engine support crossmember is mounted on spacers, not sure why.
I like the patina, and plan to leave it as is.
There are a number of "farmer" fixes on it, but it's all there for them most part. My plan is to go through all the mechanical stuff, make it all reliable and road worthy, install lockers, and go wheeling.
This will be a long term project, and fixing things as my budget will allow. Looking forward to the process.
