Some Posts Not Visible
« on: March 30, 2020, 11:48:26 AM »
Randomly, I'm still not seeing some posts.  It isn't consistent so I haven't noticed a pattern of sorts.  What I see is a post from a member but that post has not text.  Then I notice a response from another member addressing that previous post - so that tells me it isn't blank.

Here's my latest example:
https://cj3apage.com/Forum/index.php?topic=4626.0

I see Pascal's welcome and then Matt has 2 posts below that.  Each shows a time stamp where Matt went back and edited but nothing shows - no text, no images.  Am I the only one?  Is there anything that can be checked?

This issue (when it happens) causes me not to respond to posts and also makes it a little harder to follow those threads - unless another responds with a lot of detail where I can piece together what I couldn't see.

Frustrating.

It is possible that the unseen comments require an admin to review before they are seen by the group.  I occasionally receive an email telling me there are comments to review.  My guess is that one of the other admins is reviewing and authorizing before I see the request in my email folder.  I have only authorized one of these requests.  All the others I've opened had already been authorized by others.

Interesting insight.  So far, I haven't gone back to some of those posts to check and see if they've become readable.  This suggests that all would not be able to see, until the post has been approved.   For me, I seem to be on the "outside" not able to read yet others can and reply - and that's when I find out the blank post actually has something there unseen by me.  So, to help explain, I did go back and find just a few of those blank posts.

Examples:
https://cj3apage.com/Forum/index.php?topic=4621.0
See stony's post at 1:03 (blank).  There's a response by BillT at 7:49.

https://cj3apage.com/Forum/index.php?topic=4559.0
First post by Jmarcum (blank).  Two replys

https://cj3apage.com/Forum/index.php?topic=4380.0
stony's initial post (blank).   Shows one "Like" and then a response by Bob W and then stony again.  Then, once I knew what was being discussed, I could post.  Oddly, stony posts after my response - and that post is blank too.

https://cj3apage.com/Forum/index.php?topic=4455.0
Final post by GunnersWillys (blank).

This is what I'm describing.  I assume that if no one could see, then others would post about not seeing also.

Yes, interesting -- I see what you're talking about, Rus.  But I have no understanding of what goes on under the hood, here at the forum.  We may need Pascal to sort this out.

I'm seeing the content in all of those posts.  Is it possible that you have something set to "block" some posts in your personal settings?

Hopefully Pascal will chime in soon.

That at least confirms something is not right - thank y'all for confirming.  I don't believe I've selected (or not selected) that would cause this.  I haven't selected anyone to be on a "hate list"

I had a profile reset a while back but this seems random.  It would be nice to figure this out!

That's exactly what I was attempting to emphasize.  I never thought to do a screen capture.

Nope!  Not you.  I'm blank also.  Because I see this blank post often but random, I don' t reply 'cause I don't know if it's just me or it affects others.  Pascal's post is blank for me too.

It's possible that this problem has something in common with the problem we had with the SQL server.

I will follow it.
