I slightly thought about flat towing option but don't want to tow on my NDCC's. Maybe if I had another set of shoes then drop the prop shafts and go.
Just curious, did you trade off the BFG's that you had?

Long gone, they were at the end of their life anyway and.  I suppose I'm a dummy for not keeping and selling the wheels.

Just wanted to shout out to all my CJ3A friends to watch for pictures of the Fall Color Tour this next week. The CJ2A page will have all the latest and greatest pictures.

Hope we have a good representation of CJ3A's

It was good to Jeep with you and your family! South Dakota met 4 Texas Jeeps there! What a great adventure huh? John, aka Oilleaker.

Thanks John, it was also my priviledge to meet you and finally hang out with the coolest crowd of flat fender enthusiasts. What a blast.......

Check out a few shots from FCT 2015 with a record crowd! I believe there were 34 Jeeps this year - someone correct me if I'm wrong.

A mile long Jeep convoy is very impressive!

Tumble,
All-in-All, I believe M38Mike had a count of 54 Willys Jeeps and well over 100 participants this year.  Some jeeps were in early and had to leave.  Some were in late (like me) and drove the trails on the back side of the week.

It's no wonder the trail rides were split in to 2 or 3 different groups per day.  The smaller groups seemed to be more manageable.

It was another great FCT.  I got to see lots of old friends.  There were a few CJ3As there this year.  If I do say so myself, they were the nicest looking and performing Jeeps out there!!! ;)

Oilleaker and gmcjr hashing out lifes' misteries.

I had to kick them out of my shot...

This is an old root cellar at one of the old ghost towns we visited...

Winfield cemetary...

Very few of the original markers were still there...

Some buildings remain in Winfield...

This is one half of the Aspen Ridge trail group.  No break downs and delays for us.  We got to eat lunch early.

The second group finally caught up...

Some days were a bit chilly this year.  Had to go fully enclosed.

The fall colors were extraordinary this year.  I've said this before...  This is a 'Bucket List' type trip.  Everyone with a flat fender Willys should try to make it here at some point.  You will never forget the experience. :)

You take some great shots. Should have a Jeep Photography studio next to your garage Door business.  ;) now for the thought of the day: I keep wanting to sit early in the  AM having a hot quiet cup of coffee on one of those old cabins front porches at Winfield. They just capture me. Oilly

I agree - okay the plan is we meet Saturday morning at the cabin! I'll bring the donuts, Tim you bring the coffee, and John can start the fireplace up!

Those are some GREAT pictures - I have to get some therapy - been looking at the pictures of 2016 trip almost everyday. I really need to get my mind back on the job, well at least until May 2018 and then they can have it all, I'm going jeepin!

Leaker, Tumble,
I can't think of two better families to spend quality porch-time with.  I'm there!

There was a good showing of CJ-3As this year. I'm guilty of bringing a CJ-3B  :'(

True.  3As and M38s were well represented this year.  It warms my heart.  I dont think we topped the 2A crowd in numbers, but it might have been close.

Bob, I scan the photos of the reunions and picnics held out east.  A 3A sighting seems rare at these events.  Am I just missing them, or am I correct to assume they dont show up that much at these gatherings?

It seems like there are not many CJ-3As at shows and things. I don't have production numbers handy but I'd say that the percentage of CJ-3As Vs CJ-2As (at shows) doesn't even come close to the amount produced. What were the numbers at the FCT? Maybe 6 CJ-3As? How about CJ-3Bs? There were only two!

Yep,
You and Keith (Grumpy) represented the 3Bs on the trail.  I think Bruce had his 3B there too, but he and Tiny didn't drive it much.

We all know you can put a 3A shield on a 2A, so I'm not positive about my next observation.

I attempted to count 3A/M38 style windshields in the Aspen Ridge photo. 10...maybe 11.  I think I can make out 33 or 34 Jeeps in that line up.  That would be a solid 30-31% 3As and M38s.  If we remove the known M38s, the 3A number is maybe at 6 to 8.  Still a respectable 19-20% 3A participation.

It's probably useless information, but I wonder if we could get everyone who participated to tell us what they drove this year.  As it is 'Home Base', it's probably smart to ask this question at the 2A Page.  I might do that.
