Squaring up the rear axle
« on: September 29, 2012, 11:29:57 AM »
I've got to replace the passenger rear spring bracket, including a small part of the frame it attaches to. The front bracket is in good shape. any tips on installing the new bracket so that the spring is in the correct alignment? Or will the shackle compensate for any minor deviations?

Match it up to the other side.

I guess I'd go ahead and repair the frame the way it needs to be by taking all of the attachements off and doing the structural work first, then measure up the other side, drivers side and clamp everything in place good and tight.  Measure three times and weld once.  If you are off by 1/16 or so it should be ok, not sure any more than that would be good.
