Installing a winch on Annabel

Today, Sunday, I got my winch on and wired. Reading the instructions and specs I found it has a 45 second duty cycle at full load with a 14 minute minimum rest time. The kit has #6 wire in it and 296 amp at 12v full load calls for #2 wire. With the duty cycle it recommends, using #2 wire would be over kill. Since my cables are so short I don't think there will be any issues and since I will seldom if ever pull at full load, I used the #6 cable in the kit and cut them to the length I needed.

I mounted the control plug receptacle in the center of the dash and the long cable will let me use it outside the Jeep if needed.

If you'd had that last year we would have put it to the test.  Looks great.

Yes, we would have given it a serious test but I doubt it would have pulled me forward unless we could have tied the cable off about 15 ft up a tree. That was a very steep bank poor Annabel was stuck on. She still has mud on her from that trench.

That they do, I splayed them to each side to light up the sides of the road or trail. I wish I could snap my fingers and be in Blanding.

If you ever are able to transport yourself by the snap of a finger I'll be happy to go Jeeping with you any time.  I hope your ride across the states will be uneventful but enjoyable.  Any others want to join us in September? We'd love to have you.

At full load, I'm sure that means at full max load pull that the winch is rated at.  I'm sure it'll never see those loads given the weight of the rig.
When are you set to hit the road to venture out this way?  
I'd love to accept your offer Calvin, but I'm just not ready .  Maybe next year sometime.
