another engine indentification thread
« on: February 10, 2015, 01:11:03 AM »
the engine that I just took out of my jeep has either been rebuilt or it was swapped with another engine.  I know this because it has stickers all over it that tell you certain things to do and not do before installing the engine.  one of the stickers says "jasper" on it, so that's a dead give away.  I just don't know if someone took it to jasper and had it rebuilt, or if they just chunked the old one, and put in a replacement.  anyway, the only reason I'm wanting to know is because my jeep originally belonged to country music hall of famer, Eddie Arnold.  even though I'm installing a Kubota, if it is the original engine, I need to keep it.  if not, once I get my Kubota in, I would just sell the L-134 to someone who needs one.  so far, the pictures below show the only numbers I've found.  I'll have to check for the one on the deck that was mentioned in another thread I saw.  any info would be appreciated.

Casting 908756 is too late for a 1950 CJ-3A.
