Correct Side Mirrors?

One of my 3A's previous owners drilled a hole into the windshield metal and applied square truck mirror and bracket. I've been using this for a while, but would like to consider putting on and original style mirror and and extra for the passenger side. Is there a specific style for the 3A, or would the same used for the GWP and MB be correct? I also do not have any visible mounting location on my body. Any information would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Here's the mirror on my 3A. I'm fairly certain, but not 100% positive, the mirror arm is original. I did replace the round mirror part with a repop from Walcks.



I have seen vintage pics of 3A's with shorter mirror arms too. I'm not sure when or why the difference so I'm sure others will chime in.

The mirror on mine looks just like Ryans...I too got a new mirror as the old one was cracked. As far as I know the arm is original.

I think the longer arms make the mirror more functional regardless of the originality...

Another one of my favorite photos. Check out that stubby mirror arm though. And are those 2A hood blocks? Possibly offset like a 2A?

Mine looks just like the others.� Your original mounting holes may have been filled, but you're almost certain to see the original mirror bracket mounting holes on the inside face of your cowl area. Look for Four 1/4" holes tightly spaced.

I suppose that's possible but it still looks short even in other pics of the same Jeep, doesn't it? And what do you make of the stubby hood blocks?

The hood blocks do look stubby.  Maybe it's an early 3A thing before they realized the blocks need to be taller?  I couldn't imagine they wouldn't have tested that though.

The last picture in the series (different 3A) has the taller blocks.  Curious.

Short hood blocks are commonly found on the early 3As. The color of the windshield pivot brackets and the door channel are the things that I think are unusual.

We would expect those to be black, right?� �Dealer repainted a custom color?  The bolts heads look like the body color too.

In the second picture of the series the jeeps appear to be right-hand drive....or could that be done if the negative were reversed?...do we know where these pictures were taken?

Reversed negative. Look at the license plate on the 3A.
