There's no saving this one unfortunately. I've stripped it of all usable parts and with a little luck I can move the carcass to its next resting place without even having to take it off the trailer. As much of a rot box as this is (floors are totally gone) the M38 frame is in excellent condition.

This Jeep was pushed onto my trailer today by a rusty old skidder deftly piloted by the PO whiilst smoking a cigar. I really wish I had a video. Only in Maine...

And Tim - this does not have an M38 shift tower so I will be of no help in figuring out your shift rail mystery yet.

I also went and checked out a separate collection of three FC's today. Two were 170's and one 150. All were complete basket cases with huge price tags. At least it was easy to walk away from that empty handed.

FC's are hard to find, even in Maine....
I'm looking at the picture and seeing about $100 worth of parts I just got in from KW. I'll bet the side mirror, as old as it is, is better quality then the new stuff.
Nice haul, hate to see another one get chopped.

I received a tip that there was a "flat fender behind a shed out in the woods" and some vague directions to the location of said shed. Since it was an absolutely beautiful afternoon and I was already driving the 3A, I made what turned out to be a 3 hour ride (2 hours of being lost trying to find it then a direct 1 hour home...) to go check it out.

Vintage 3B! The owner was not around but I snapped some spy photos anyways.

Nice seats at least...

Sunken almost to the frame. It's been here awhile.

(Un)Healthy use of diamond plate

Hy-Lo pumps not only work well for plows they also make good spider habitat

Warns!

They apparently ran out of diamond plate and switched to fiberglass repair

And I spied this along the way too. Is it a Dodge? I know I've seen them but I can't ID it. Who can?

Looks like an M37. Dodge weapons carrier, flat head 6 cylinder. Cool trucks.

It is so sad to see a vehicle sunk almost to the frame, unused, unwanted.  That would make a very nice project for someone.  Probably all you'd have to do is polish up that little chrome breather, flush out the spiders, air up the tires and you'd be good to go..........not.  I like 3B's because you just don't see that many around.

The M37 might be the coolest truck ever.  If I had a place to keep one, I would try to own one.

And the Power Wagon.
Or find somebody near you who can.

Hey Hawky, I'll introduce you to Tuffy and Scruffy when you come up. (M37's) I might let you touch their winches!  ;D Oil

It can be done! You might even get a chance to compare them. We'll just make it happen. Oil

Oily, it's illegal to own more than 1 M37. I'll pull a long trailer when I come over in June and take 1 off your hands before ya get busted. You know 'ol Rick, always lookin out for his fellow jeeper..

Went and checked this out today. Supposedly a '44 MB. The tag on the tub has a 5/25/44 DOD. The block has a SN on the pad behind the oil filter but is outfitted with a Supersonic head. Transmission appears to be a T-90. Supposedly it ran as recently as yesterday.

Frame and tub have very little rust by New England standards but both have been cut and modified in places. Gas tank set-up is a mess. I made an offer, we'll see what happens.

I don't know a whole lot about MB's so input is welcome.

You know more than you're letting on. ::)

There looks to be a lot of MB there...but then...I scroll to the next photo and see stuff that's out of place.  I'm holding judgement until you bring it home! ;D

I really don't! I'm pretty good with M38's and 3A's "in the field" but if this is a real MB it's the first one I've ever crawled over so lots of new-to-me stuff. I've been doing a lot of googling and online picture comparison today.
