Willys Truck
« on: January 06, 2013, 02:20:15 PM »
Anyone want me to lock up my brakes, bang a 3 point turn on a blind hill, and then be late for an appointment? Just park one of these in a nondescript lot when you know I'll be passing by. Any idea what year it is? I was relieved that it did not have a "For Sale" sign on it.

Post '53 with the big rear window I think (maybe?)

I'm pretty much obsessed with those trucks...

1957 or later - fresh air heater intake below passenger side turn signal light and 3-bar grill
1961 or older - split windshield
Very, very nice.
Good thing it's not for sale, huh?

Where did you say it was ???
My dad taught me that everything is for sale...
Climbs trees, hides in the long grass, hangs out with wet dogs...

I'm sure the same is true here. In my original post I should have been more clear. How about this:

"I'm glad the owner was nowhere in sight so I had no opportunity to find out just what it would take for me to own it".

Ryan I am guilty as well, I have seen this restored Dodge many times in Florida and always stop to admire it. Since it has been parked at a funeral home for years and is operable I got to wondering if it was the preferred last ride of a veteran over the black limo.

We are masters of the unsaid words, but slaves of those we let slip out... WC

Bruce, I like it and believe it would make a fine addition to your fleet.  Just think of how many Jeep parts you could haul around in the back of that thing!  ;D
