Farewell
« on: July 11, 2012, 08:44:11 AM »
Farewell fellow Willys enthusiasts...

It's with a sad heart that I bid you farewell.  I grew up with Jeeps and have many fond memories of 4 wheeling the old mining trails of CO with my Dad.  My first car was a 1975 CJ-5, and I have owned many Jeeps since - CJ-7s, 2As, 3As, 3Bs, Wagons, a Jeepster, and even a few Commandos.  I saw a need in 2005 when I was restoring my CJ-3A for our very own CJ3A Page and voila, here we are 7 years later.

In those 7 years, a lot has changed in my life and I have shifted priorities to my kids and.....Land Rovers. I wish this website and you - the new "owners" - the best of luck, and truly hope this website and forum can evolve in to something for you to continue to enjoy and bring in more enthusiasts.  This website and forum was built and supported by YOU. It's YOUR website, so continue to treat it as such, and don't let idiots and jackassery take over the forum.  Think of the forum as a bunch of guys sitting around the fire telling stories.  If someone gets out of line, take them in to the woods and give them a beat down.  This forum has no place for cyberbullies.

I'll continue to poke my head in and say hello from time to time...

Cheers and Semper Fi.

Jonathan

Jonathan, I have a feeling we will still see ya ,,,it is really hard to get jeeps out of your head. Land Rovers are neat too, so we forgive you straying from the fold...just we really don't beleive you when you say you are done with jeeps. It is impossible to be done with them. Before ya know it a Craigslist ad for an incredible deal on a jeep will be calling out to you....and then......you are a jeep owner again.

Your work here at the website is appreciated, somewhere we need to put up a picture of you and your old 3A together if you have one, with a little blurb telling the history of the page. If you can think of where you might have that shoot me a PM.

100 percent agreed on the cyberbullies thing. This ain't no Pirate and it isn't gonna be. We are also keeping it family friendly, with a few very minor changes ya might already have noticed.. ;) I want dads( or moms or grandparents too), to be able to sit down and visit here with their sons or daughters when they need some help on their jeep..Quite often in the shop pictures we see some pretty young faces, and you know how they take to computerland.....so we want them to be very welcome here!!

Religion and politics always seem to bring out arguments and hurt feelings, so that also will stay at a minimum just like it has been all along.

Dave has been working along in the background doing the transfer stuff, and so far it has been going quite well. I thank you for your patience and cooperation in making this a seamless transition.

And I echo your sentiments...this is a member owned site, and it is up to the members to keep it a good one. WE have a good bunch here and I expect some great things will happen...

And in case anyone is wondering, we are keeping the store for Jonathan for awhile till he sells off his stock of 3A related stuff...(WHile I am thinking of it, you don't have any dualmatic stickers any more including the defective ones, right?)

Can civilians say Semper Fi?
Cheers I know I can say!

Oh, believe me, I still drool all over untouched flatfenders!  As a matter of fact, I ran up to an unmolested 2A up in northern MN last week like a little schoolgirl and hounded the driver.

ALL Dualmatic hub decals are gone.  I've tried to get more, but they are extremely difficult to reproduce on the fancy material.

I have TONS of the dash decals though!

Thanks Johnathon for all that you have done with the site!  Your blue 3A is the inspiration for my rebuild and your sites have been a huge help along the way.  I hope you keep the original site up and running as I still refer to it often for the pictures!  ::)

Good luck and God bless!

We will keep all of the original site up and running, with a few edits here and there...Like you said, it is great stuff to have available for researching 3a's..
