Barn Find 2A - Opinions?
« on: June 19, 2012, 07:12:47 AM »
Ok fellas, here are some pics of a supposed one owner '46 2A that is available for sale fairly close to me. I did not take these pics - another forum member did - but I am posting on his behalf. We are not sure if the Jeep runs but it looks, at least from the pics here, to be in very good shape. It is still wearing its 1946 license plate and has supposedly been used only for plowing and light duty service around the property. The original owner has recently passed away so details are scarce. We know it was been repainted but beyond that, not much else is known. There was no attempt made to start it. I noticed the air cleaner was missing but I'm curious what else you guys notice right off the bat. Any opinions of value?

Ryan,

From what I can see, if the price is reasonable,  I would snap that up in a heart beat.  Pictures aren't great.  From first look, it's almost in too good'a shape.  The wheels aren't original.  The dash data plate looks too good to be original.  The top is awesome.
I didn't see any rust.

If that engine runs...over even turns over, it looks like a great find.

Thanks Tim . I agree, that top is outstanding. I posted this same topic over on the 2A forum and have received a flurry of input. This "find" and the pics are all from fellow member "BMIC"....I just get a little more wound up than he does and posted pics on his behalf. Good stuff.
