A few friends went Jeepin' today at Rausch Creek in PA. Here in the Northeast we are limited to using private land for driving off pavement. Sorry we were using new Jeeps, not CJ-3As. Here are a couple photos.

  wow, that's quite a climb over the large rocks. We don't have any wild trails here either, only public gravel roads that have been in use since the late 1700's as wagon roads and not many of them are left in the original shape. There are a few private places to go off roading but I haven't been to them yet.

Last spring a few of us went to Black Mountain Recreational Park in Harlan County KY for some fun....

  good grief, I don't think a stock CJ3 would clear those boulders. While Annabel and I enjoy climbing rocky roads I don't think she would like that road. Anything bigger than a basketball size rock may be a problem for us.

Coming from FLorida where a rock is the size of a grain of sand, and a hill is the curb at the end of my driveway, I would be quite intimidated about attempting that trail.    I would have to let Bob do the driving and I would sit in the passenger seat with my eyes closed and fingers crossed.

What trails will you be doing? I snapped a rear axle shaft, which in turn broke the locker, in Rock Creek last month. This past trip was better, didn't break anything.

Bob: I wish I could have joined you this year at RC. It looks like you managed to find plenty of rocks! �;D

I try to get to Rausch Creek Off-Road park at least once a month with my '93 YJ. If any fellow 3A Page members are interested in getting a trip together, let me know! I've been a trail guide for some of the PA Jeeps club trail rides there and have done a number of beginners trips too.

A Willys will do great on the trails there! You are required to have front and rear recovery points, seatbelts and a roll bar. Although I haven't had my 3A there, I have seen other flatties on the trails and have done similar ones in Virginia with a friend in his 2A.

Everyone was asking where you were. Thanks for the trail recommendation, it worked out well. The JK has a 2" lift now, and a few other mods, so it's comfortable on blues and can do easy blacks. They should have 35s by next time.

We don't have any specific trails planned yet.  I'm going for a Land Rover rock crawling competition and some wheeling on the side.

I'd be up for a 3A Page trip there whenever, as long as you don't mind wheeling with a Land Rover!

Well, I've got HD rear shafts and an ARB rolling on 35s, so I hoping to not break anything!
