I'm thinking Saturday or Sunday I will be. I still have to fix the two rusted out legs of the driver's seat.

At this point, it is bringing back the memories of building the '53. Once the tub was on the frame, that is where the fun started and it went together fast.

MAJOR progress today! The tub is back on and it is about ready to drive! Just have to put the seats in, hook up the fuel line, and dump some gas in!



I'm mad, broke one of the tcase shifter knobs. The thing exploded when I tried to take it off. I have spares. ;)



No hockey pucks, but conveyor belt and valve springs for the body mounts!

Transmission shifts great, OD works great and I'm loving the R&P dual MC. I swear this thing with 9" brakes stops better than my '53 with 10" brakes.

Some more updates I didn't get to this morning.

I printed out the graphic and taped it on the side. It looks pretty good! The size looks right, so I'll get two of these decals made up.





And yesterday, I took the windshield all apart. I can reuse all the original rubber.

Got the new M38 winter top on and new seat covers today and finished up the back. Totally looks like a forest service jeep to me!

I got it from Beachwood. It took two weeks from the day I ordered for it to show up on my steps. I'll get more pictures tomorrow. I took it all apart to paint the framework.

Did you use 3a bows or M-38 bows?

I've often wondered if an M-38 summer top wouldn't fit on the standard 3a bows....they are in sorta the same location relative to the top, only the height would be an issue...

It really looks great....

We have to wait until tomorrow for more pictures?

I used neither for bows. I had an old set of bows from an old kayline vinyl top. They are like modern best top bows. They worked really well. In the middle of the M38 top, there is a loop that holds the middle bow in place. I don't think it lines up with the middle bow of a 3A. I'll check and see though.
