New v6
« on: November 14, 2012, 09:48:00 PM »
I decided on the long weekend to put together my spare v6 which I meant to to back in the spring for the Jalopy to replace its beat v6. his thing is pretty well built. I used some sort of good cam for low end torque, comp cams double roller timing chain, comp cams lifters, edelbrock 4 bbl intake, holley truck avenger 470 cfm carb, 30 over pistons, delco 12 si alternator, HEI and unknown headers. I've been driving it around and it is awesome. I can put it in 3rd gear of the T18 low range and idle it down to a crawl and take back off with ease.

No girlfriend and I'm still in school.  ;)

It certainly looks happy with its new engine.

Not too bad if you keep it under 2000 RPM where it makes all its power. Certainly has some giddy-up and go though!

Funny thing about this engine, I had gotten a new cam from the guy I got the block from. He got it years ago and couldn't remember where he got it from. Anyways, this unknown cam is real torquey.

Nice Jeep. I like the front suspension... got more photos?

Offenhauser offers a 225 Dual Port Intake Manifold that is supposed to provide a great low end and midrange.

I am noodling the idea of building a 225 and bolting up an SM 420.
