Choke and Throttle cables
« on: January 22, 2024, 05:22:47 PM »
One thing that has bothered me since I did the restoration of my 1964 CJ3B is the lettering on the choke and throttle cable knobs. Apparently, the ones I purchased, the lettering was just printed directly onto the knobs and wore away rather quickly. I have purchased a new set of cables from KW that have the lettering engraved into the knobs and should last much longer.
Question; When I restored the jeep, I put the cables back the way they were, throttle on top, choke on the bottom, which is also the way my M38 is setup. Just checking my owner's manual and it shows the reverse, choke on top and throttle on the bottom. I plan to install the new cables like the owner's manual shows but just curious as to how everybody else's cables are installed. Thanks!
P.S., this is the later model with the single gauge cluster.

When I got around to installing my new ones, I went with choke/top and throttle/bottom.   I don't remember referencing the SM but I may have and just forgot.
