Wilson-Wilson gets a new axle
« on: August 14, 2023, 09:27:00 PM »
I finally decided to install my spare Dana 44 rear axle assembly into Wilson-Wilson. I purchased this axle several years ago from a member here (thanks, Jeff!), "just in case". It's a low mileage early CJ5 axle with the correct 4.27 gears.  I have been into the original Dana several times and have basically replaced everything except the ring gear and pinion and the carrier, but it still has a little whine that drives me crazy. The one I just installed is very quiet.  I'll wrap the old one up and put it away, "just in case"!
