Warn Lock-O-Matic Hubs
« on: July 03, 2021, 09:03:31 PM »
Warn out!!
Trying to rebuild my axles on my '60 CJ3B.
I was able to get the one side of the warn lock-o-matic hubs off.  It was loose and chinked like they installed it and took it out with screwdriver.  It was also missing the slotted washer the allen set screws are supposed to go in.

The other side is really tight and tapping on it did no good.
I cannot tell if there are set screws in it or not, two of the holes are chinked as if they hammered it also.
How do I get this off?  Drill them out and then use a homemade 2 or 3 prong extractor?
Did see a youtuber using needle nose pliers?

And, yes it gets better, both sides were missing one of the roller bearings(my term) of the "cage" of the locking hub part.
Not sure how it worked as I only had it a short time before I started the whole jeep apart to rebuild it.

*Luckily Walck's has come thru again as they have both the slotted washer and the special locking nut with set screws.
