Thanks Zeked....I understand what the relay does and thanks for the explaination!.....but my plan is to run all the power, ignition as well as the power to crank the starter through the disconnect switch...my 3a has no solenoid, it's a "kick start"..
I have a Lucas disconnect switch, Austin Healey used them and I have one on my MG...but it is 12 volt. At six volts the same number of watts draws twice the amps, so I'm pretty sure the switch won't handle it....
I may have to buy one of those big disconnect switches, or just forget about the whole thing....
