I want to go to dual master cyl on my '49 CJ3 and I have the tub off of the chassis, and the rolling stock is almost finished.  I can route the lines, but is there interference with the tub caused by the larger MC?

Check out page 8 of GarageGnome's project. He shows a pic of an installed dual MC that clears the tub.

Yep, as Ryan posted, R&Ps kits works great. I did Herms on my 53, but if I was to do it again, I would use R&Ps kit. Much easier to install. There is a link a few pages back in that thread to purchase the kit.
