Radial tires?

Anyone running radials?

I have 15" rims and would like to find a near-original size in a modern tire...

NDCC's  or Traxion's are an option....

A guy on the trail run had some nice radials. They did good on the trail. Don't know what they were though.

I have radials on my CJ-5. I really like them as they do well both on and off road. But, besides being 16", they are no longer available....I think they are called All-Position radials, 215/70/16...they are probably 15 years old ...

I had radials on mine prior to the NDCCs.� The ride was substantially smoother.� But heck, this is a Flat Fender Willys Jeep from the 40's.� It ain't suppose to be smooth.� Having the full "Willys Jeep Experience" is part of the charm!� I really enjoy the rough rider feel.� I just can't get enough of it! � I must say, I really like the tread pattern in the photo.� Very cool.

I think I've had a pretty full and complete "Willys Jeep Experience" this year.. 

I guess I could just buy another set of jack stands and swap the wheels and tires between the two jeeps....

Wouldn't that be convenient!

NDCC's would be my choice if I can't find anything locally....when you call the tire stores and ask for the equivalent of a 650 or 700 15 tire the line usually goes dead....

The on line tire shops seem to do a good job. I bought my NDCCs on line from Summit Racing (700-15).� They are Coker/Firestone.� At the time, Summit had the best price when combining tire cost and shipping.�

I have also heard recently that the shops like Big-O or Discount will special order NDCCs.� Of course, this saves the shipping cost.

My problem was finding a shop that was willing to mount a tubed tire.� I found one guy , Hernando, at one Big-O shop that could and would do it.

They also were able to supply the correct tubes.

Mentioning tubes can also be met with a blank stare...

Yes, those are the NDCCs on my "militarized 3A"� I wanted an M38, but finding one in my area is rare.� I've only ever seen one real M38.� It belongs to M38Mike at the 2A page.

Big-O didn't have the tubes in stock, but they had them at the local warehouse.� They were ordered and at my Big-O in a couple hours.

Well, it looks darn nice...and the NDCC's really do make it look like it means business...

And thanks for the pictures...I was afraid that the 700's would look too fat, but they look just fine, and Summit has the best price that I've found..

In my searching for tires over the years I've owned my 3B, I've found that there are VERY few (perhaps none) radials that will work on the stock rim - only 4.5" wide. Same for the stock 5" rims on my Wagon.

I bought a set of 16 x 6" wide rims for the Wagon so I can have a reasonable variety of choices for radials to put on it. As for the 3B, I'm staying with tube-tybe, bias tires. Super Traxions from Specialty Tires of America.

I saw the pictures of the trail run...man did that look like fun!

But, it must have been the fellow with the green jeep...those tires look a lot like the ones I have on my CJ-5

I wish I could find another set...
