Might be part of the driveshaft shield kit to keep grass from getting wound up in them during farm implement use. (Or someone decided to mount exhaust hangers to the rear end.......) The shields are pretty rare, I know there are pictures of them over at the 2A page somewhere....

Thanks Bill/Larry, Obviously the guard has been cut away but I will carefully remove the bracket and post a picture with the measurements for anyone who might like to fabricate one.
