Grille
« on: November 22, 2016, 05:48:56 PM »
I didn't do a very good job of "bag & tag' & I apologize for my newbie mistakes. I'll do the grille next & I have seen 2 brackets in my stash. I need to know what other hardware is involved, so I'll know what to look for. Length, diameter, thread type and whatever else will b involved in putting it back in. TY   Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Trijjicon,
Is your radiator a bottom mount or side mount?  If side mount, that's where brackets might come in to play.  I'm not familiar with side mount radiator set ups.  If bottom mount, no brackets are required while mounting the grille.

What I do know:
The bolts from grille to fenders are 5/16"-18. 1" or 1-1/4" will work.  I prefer 1-1/4" if the fenders are a bit tweaked and need to be drawn in a bit. I recommend the use of flat washers too.

The two lower outer bolts and nuts that mount the grille to the frame are 3/8" x 1". Thread pitch doesn't really matter here. 16 "course threads" work just fine.

The lower center bolt is 3/8".  I can't remember the thread pitch for this one...or how long it is.

That's a huge help for me finding what I need. I had parts pulled off and re-painted. They were still hanging to dry when I went thru buying the all the hardware. I forgot to go thru the painted items, so didn't pick up the hardware for those parts. That's why I have to ask what to use. Silly mistake. The grille is bottom-mounted & shouldn't b a problem but something seems to pop-up no matter what.Thnx
