Don't the 8n blocks use sleeves?   Nothing like a fresh set of sleeves, pistons, and rings to make a sweet runner...

Is that a temperature sender I see in your old upper hose? That looks like a good possibility for the Hesse Hornet question asked by Judge earlier...

Thanks!!! I didn't know it even posted once, much less more. All I saw was a error message, LOL. The temp sensor was made from copper fittings by the p.o. It appears the block has the .090 cast sleeves, (its not the original, its a industrial engine).
She's ugly as sin,but she'll do a honest days work.

We have an 8N too. Good tractor. We use it as a lawn mower. My dad took the exhaust manifold off and I had to braze it where they usually crack where the pipe connects.

I finally got her back together! Sheesh, that project took awhile. I wish I could've got new sleeves, I didn't really know how bad they where really worn until I started honing them. I hate having to nickel and dime everything anymore, but losing my job soon doesn't help. But it seems the new rings have seated, we will find out tomorrow when I hook up the old 6.5 ft double gang disc, and take care of the garden plot, its about all she'll pull.
