Back in 05 I got the chance of a life time! �Had a guy call me and tell me he knew where my late grandfathers last race car was hiding. �Having raced for over 15 yrs myself, this sparked my interest pretty quick. I had retired from racing back in 2000 and hadn't been able to go to the track for fear of making someone an offer they couldn't refuse and fast tracking my way to divorce court
�Here in Wisconsin we have a very active Vintage race car presents, so this just might be my chance to get a noise maker back
in the garage. �The car ended up being just a heavily altered bare frame. �Numerous others had looked at the remains and shook their heads and walked away. For me, I was in love!
My grandfather was married 3 times and I was a product of the first family. �Bad blood within the family kept me from ever really getting to know him. Remembered going to the track with my parents to watch him race but had stricked instructions to stay clear. �
This restoration project was a chance for me to talk with guys he raced with and I got a true sense of what he must have been like. I found out that his family never got to see his positive side. �His friends couldn't say enough good things about him.
