And the fun continues. The block has to go back to the machine shop. #3 and 4 exhaust valve stems are scored up due to the new valve guides.

Ugh.....what a drag. At least it's  early enough in the season that you'll still have Ted back together before it even really warms up around here.

Yeah, the trails are mucky anyways. I would do more damage than good out there anyways.

They have no idea what happened to the crank and bearing. As for the valve guides, I think once they heated up, the clearance was not enough.

Well...that sucks.  Stuff like this freaks me out.  Maybe a little gunk blocking the oil hole?  Let us know if they find a smoking gun.

Well, the saga continues. I got the block back from the machine shop and started assembling the engine. Put the crank in and plasti-gauged it. That was OK. So I lubed it up and put it back in with no rear seal. Locked right up. I put a screwdriver in the flywheel bolts, and got it to spin, but it was still pretty tight. So I started taking caps off until I found the tight one. It turned out to be the front one. I pulled the bearing out and there were random shiny spots on the bearings. For haha's I put the old new bearing in from the first rebuild. It spun great then.

Ok, the heck with it, the engine is going together that way. Got the engine all together and back in. Got it running and its running great! Took it for a little ride today and now the front main seal is pouring out oil. Ugh! I just can't win with this thing!

I feel like parts are just junk now.

Update! Ted is the very happy super jeep. Only issue is that about 3/4 throttle, it doesn't run too great. Its getting too much gas. I made some new jets up and it is better, but still not great. Waiting on some brass rod to make new ones. I made some out of steel just to it out.

Original jet is in the middle.



And then I was out playing with the go pro camera.



I had a passenger too today Smokey!
