Newbee and missing ID plate

Hello,
rather accidentally I stumbled across a 3A here in Portugal, on a farm, quite derelict... tyres all flat and uninflatable, headlights, lamps and instruments as well as the front transmission shaft missing. No engine number (replaced engine?).
BUT: towing it did work since the wheels are not seized by the brakes.
The big problem is that there is no ID documentation and the ID plate on the firewall says "went for a little stroll in the fields"...

Now does anyone have an 1950 ID plate he saved and kept from a scrapped CJ?
I ask this question having kept such plates of other cars and makes in bygone years... and I guess I'm not the only one.

So who can help?
The radiator say "50 J", so it should be from that year, possibly october� ("J")... ::)

So we used some old but "rolling" 6.70 tyres, and got it out of there...

Good looking 3A you have there, Harald.  You can buy blank VIN Willys plates and have your own # stamped or engraved on it.  I assume you don't have a title, so you'll have to go through that process anyway.  Might as well just make a # up!  I have an old 3A plate, but the corner holes are torn.

Nice jeep...you might look for a titled donor jeep with a plate....your jeep looks pretty nice and parts jeeps are out there....you need a few parts anyway..

There is a fellow on ebay that sells blank plates
 dataplates4you.com� I think...google it....

A title isn't the problem since that is specific to your countries. But IOT to get it MOT'ed (in a future day, still far away), I'd need such an ID plate.

Next question, concerning the transversal struts, for instance beneath the tool box - they seem to have wood inside, or am I wrong? Saw some more stretching out, in a quite orderly way, to the footholds for entering.

Those are what are called "hat" channels...if you look at them from the very end they look a little like a hat..... and they did put wood inside...I think it was to keep the channels from being crushed when the bolts through them were tightened.

They are re-reinforcement for the floors etc...

Replacements are available..

This is one source in the U.S.

You will see that the replacements have short sections of tubing where the bolts go through to prevent crushing.
