Hello all,

I had a '48 Jeep truck back when I was 13-18 but TRULY wanted a 2A or 3A.
I could never find any that weren't either rusty junk or over-priced.
In the time in between, I had many Wranglers and a '71 CJ5.

I picked up my present '51 3A off of ewillys for a super fair price and it's quite solid.
No museum piece by any means but far better than most I'd looked at over the years.
I've been accumulating bits since I got it back in Sept..
Mostly original, 6 volt, runs and drives. �No brakes yet, though. � �::)
Can't wait to tear into it and get her roadworthy.

Welcome from a fellow Missourian!  I'm located in the bootheel and also have a '51 3A I getting close to finishing.  I'm not sure where you are at, but there is a very good show and swap meet in Jefferson City in the fall around September.

Hi Mark!

I'm just south of St. Louis.

I actually went to the Jeff City meet this year.
BUT.......I went on Sunday morning.
Unbeknownst to me, there really is no show on Sunday......although the advertisements for the show say Fri.-Sun..
Needless to say, I wasn't very pleased after all that driving.
Only a few rides left and they were on trailers heading out.  
Spoke with the lady in charge and she said they plan to alter the advertisements for next year.

Hey Bill, just a friendly warning here. I bought my '51 3A about a year ago - it had no brakes either. One afternoon I went innocently hunting for the master cylinder and ended up stripping the entire vehicle right down to the bare frame. What started out as a brake fluid check resulted in a complete rebuild and total obsession. It's a slippery slope. My wife will certainly attest to that.....

Ryan, I hear you loud and clear.
To tell you the truth, that's one reason I don't have the new master installed yet.......how far to go?!
Might as well replace all the hard lines.....the rubber lines.....everything inside the drums.....while I'm there the axle seals....better check the gears and bearings.....how about that transfer case.....those springs sure look saggy......
 ;D

To tell you the truth, I have a drivetrain from a '70-71 Jeepster lined up.
If the seller pulls through, I'll have a 225 V6, self-adjusting brakes and 3.73 gears REAL soon.
Plan is to make it look as though it came that way "back when" with correct colors and such underhood.

Hi and welcome... If you happen to do your v6 conversion, please save the old motor mount frame brackets for guys like me....And if your old 134 is any good I would be very interested in it.
I have a couple of DJ3A type projects that have had the old motors replaced poorly including chopping all the bracketry out...and need the pieces to go back to stock.

Still, I would be keeping it stock. at least until I drove it some. There is something to be said for having a history with a jeep before taking it completely apart. When you are in your garage surrounded by jeep pieces and a bare chassis, those memories of past drives will keep you going.
The V6 conversion, properly done, is an excellent upgrade....then,... a dana 44 with lockers, dual exhaust, a mild lift kit, disc brakes, ......you get the idea.. It will be sweet when it is done....

I'm aiming to keep my 3A looking stock on the outside, maybe even down to the original 16" wheels and tall skinny tires.
Dream is to have the V6 looking like it came from the factory that way.  
Definitely not going to be a hack job.    :)

Yep, the paint job is certainly "memorable".    :)

Underneath that semi-camo paint is a nice, original dark burgundy.
I haven't nailed down what the color's name is but I am aiming to paint the Jeep that color.

Well, my Jeepster drivetrain CJ2A frame is home.

Ugly thing but the sum of it's parts is priceless.

There's some backwoods engineering on it but I'll pretty it all up before it goes in my 3A frame.

That's a 3B body resting on it. �I'm going to use the driver-rear corner to repair a dent on my 3A body.
The rest of it is super rough.
