My new project
« on: March 11, 2023, 10:11:25 AM »
I recently picked up a 1963 CJ3B - it has a LHead in it currently and I will probably leave it that way for now. Been putting the brakes back together- changed out the master cylinder-  lots of missing parts - best I know 2 owners ago someone started “restoration” - not sure how long ago that was but all sorts of parts that went with it did not make into the hands of the owner before me. Both front seats are missing- I have a set that I can Bubba to fit. Fan shroud is missing and now the repair shop has informed me that the radiator is not repairable.

wheel cylinders were all missing-  lower 4” of the tub have been recreated but not the best and then covered in some kind of body filler - like maybe 10lbs worth maybe 20?

The tailgate was deleted- I am hoping to put that back at some point.

I am also in the process of swapping out the springs on the rear and will be doing the front at some point here in the near future- trying not to give all my money to Kaiser’s in one go😜

If I have to buy a new radiator and fan shroud plus it needs tires all around- I am probably about a grand worth of dollars, ounce of blood, and a gallon of sweat away from being able to drive it down the road.

If someone has a set of front springs or a radiator or know of another radiator brand that will fit that would be great information. I will post pics when I figure out how to do that.

Thank you

I'm quoting Mushroom1's full post here for those who might not be able to see it due to the little quirk in the software that renders some posts invisible.

Sounds like you have quite a bit of work ahead of you.  Feel free to set up an account and ask specific questions here, and check out the Tech Tips at https://cj3b.info/

Also the Parts Suppliers links at https://cj3b.info/PartsLinks.html

One Tech Tip page that could help if you want to invest more sweat and less cash, would be https://cj3b.info/Tech/RadShroud.html

Good luck.
