My son and I had been working on a 71 VW beetle when he told me he didn’t want to work on it anymore but wanted an old Jeep. Bug sold and I began shopping for a CJ3A or CJ2A or early CJ5. I saw a guy offer up a CJ3A in a Facebook group and I sent him a message. Turns out he had a 1953 CJ3A project for sale and we bought it.

Just started working on it yesterday. We cleaned it with a mix of CLR and warm water which removed some slight surface rust, and the chaulkiness of the paint. It needs the front passenger floor board patched. It also needs the engine installed. The seller said he bought it with a S10 engine in it and it was converted to 12v. Included was an early L head engine not original to the Jeep.

I’ll try and post some pics.
