How was wire loom affixed to frame (tail lights)

Hi 3A'ers,
I am wiring up my CJ right now, and I'm making a kind of hybrid system of modern techniques with (hopefully) an original look.
I've got the engine harness done, and now I'm onto the lights....
I'm assuming that the tail light harness/wires going to the back was routed inside the frame....so...
Was the whole length of wire enveloped with asphalt cloth loom material?
How was the loom affixed to the frame? What intervals? What kind of fastener..P clip?
When I removed the remnants of my old wiring, I found evidence there was a eyelet screwed to the rear crossmember...what was that....a ground wire?
Did the asphalt loom go all the way to the back of the NACO tail light fixture? How as that loom terminated? I'm not to concerned however about that since I'll probably just do what I can with heat shrink, or something like that to keep water out.
Any comments or wisdom is appreciated.

I bought some of these clips. The top one in the picture is the old one off my frame,the new one below.

They are Au-ve-co heavy duty wire loom clips> I had to buy a box of 50..part number 14388

Just noticed there is a GM part number also..145525...

The loom follows the rear brake line along the lower frame rail until it gets to the cross memeber.

I put one clip just in front of the leading rear spring mount, one each on each side of the rear cross member where the loom passes through it...I think i used 5 total...i can look later...

1955CJ-5 gave me a bunch of these clips.  More than I could use.  If you need a few, I can probably dig them out and send you some.

To add to Randy's response, the loom covers most of the wiring until the wiring reaches a connection point...like a tail lamp.  At this point the loom just ends and there is 5-8" of exposed colorful cloth wrapped wires. 

Originally, there is no ground wire to the rear tail-lamps.  The fixture itself will create a ground to the tub once its bolted on.  Same is true for the headlamps and front park lights. Of course it never hurts to add more/additional grounds.

To add to Tim's post.....I found the original box of clips and have a few left...between the two of us we ought to be able to make it work!

I only have one tail light but I used two clips across the back as the harness was for two just in case......I'll go look and see how many I used total....

Looks like 7 total.....

Thanks guys. I saw Randy's post and searched that part number, and the searchcame up with a couple posts from the CJ3A website about this very topic! Sorry about that...
But if you either of you have extras, I would certainly appreciate any gesture...I could also cover the "ride" by putting some bucks your way(s) to cover that expense...
