Rear driveshaft tubing wall thickness

Just a real quick question...does anyone know the wall thickness of a stock rear prop shaft tube?� I know the OD is 1.25 but I need to know if the wall thickness is .120 or .188.....

Nevermind, I just picked up a used rear driveshaft and will be cutting off the worn weld yoke on my existing one to weld on a new yoke.  I will report back on the actual tube wall thickness for info purposes......

I had an idea nobody would have a cut off shaft to measure....I guess you could drill a small hole to measure one but in any case it would mean destruction of a good shaft.

If you end up with pictures and dimensions needed to retube a driveshaft it would make a good FAQ post for the tech section.

Hey F Bill,

I will take some pics and dimensions when I replace the weld yoke on the driveshaft.� My weld yoke is so worn out the universal joint bearing cups are loose in the yoke you don't even need to press them in, they actually spin in the yoke ears.

Spicer, Neapco, and Rockford driveline all sell a new weld yoke, I just need to cut off the existing weld yoke through the existing weld and preserve as much of the original length as possible and get it square.

I have a used rusty driveshaft coming that hopefully is in better shape so if I totally mess my original up I have a backup.� I have a Omix-Ada shaft in now but it has just a bit of wobble on the splines with the splined yoke and I get a irritating vibration from it....even when phased correctly....

It might be a few weeks but I will post some info....cripes new driveshafts are like $400......weld yoke is like $50.....
