Hey George,
I didn't use Mastercoat rust remover. By the time I settled on the Mastercoat Silver Primer, I had gotten rid of my rust. I brushed some small parts with the Silver. Stuff like the tranny case, hand brake drum, engine block and some of the harder to reach areas of the frame. I sprayed the frame, axles leaf springs and tub.
The warnings about not inhaling this stuff really stuck with me, so I did wear a respirator and had the garage doors wide open. Otherwise, I really liked the primer. I had a gasoline tank leak. The gas sat on my recently painted floor pans. The gas completely stripped the Gilispies paint and primer, but did nothing to the Mastercoat Silver. Also, during re-assembly, I banged stuff around a bit and chipped small areas of my top coats. The Silver doesn't chip off.
As you have probably read, it cures with moisture. It took forever to dry here in Colorado. (virtually no humidity)
Ryan, we have taken your post in a few directions. Sorry.
