wire smoke
« on: November 27, 2011, 02:54:18 PM »
installed a new gas tank sending unit - so I unhooked the battery.
When I rehooked the battery, the Volt Reg got warm and one of the wires
going to the generator was warm and smoking a bit.

I unhooked the battery again and looked around all seemed fine.
Rehooked the battery and all seems fine. Any idea why this happened?

It's a 12 volt battery with a 6 volt system.

Sounds like you may have some Lucas wiring in your jeep?  ;D
