Coil/Distributor wiring question

Hey All....today was the big day..tried for our first start, but no joy.  I have a new 12v coil and got one of those new distributors that have the solid state points. I'm thinking we have it wired wrong (it would appear I have lost the info that came with the distributor). Any of you guys remember how you wired up with those components.  The distributor has two wires coming out, one marked positive and one marked negative, the coild has a positive and negative post (in addition to the center wire). We tried a couple of combinations that seemed to make sense but had no luck.  Pulled a plug and watched for spark, no luck.  Very frustrated.... and very close.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

If it is a Crown distributor, you may have to google their wiring diagram separately. You may have fried something hooking it up backwards, and some Crown or OMIX ADA  units have been DOA lately... It may be quicker to install a good point setup for now to get it running.

After looking at the wiring diagram it appears the wire from the positive side of the coil provides current to the module so it can trigger a ground through the coil and distributor.
