Need Help with Identification
« on: November 08, 2010, 04:37:36 PM »
Just bought a old flat fender. The guy that sold it to me says it is a 50 cj3a. the windshield and hood hight is correct for a cj3a. but on the side of the engine it says cj2a (i forget all the numbers behind it) and the plate on the fire wall says 45 GB1 26467. any help would be great

Judging by the vehicle serial number you do have a CJ-3A, but it's not a 1950 model. There should be another digit in the serial number where the bold X is located.....  45X-GB1 26467 That digit will tell the model year.

You have a 1951 CJ-3A and someone has replaced the engine with one from a CJ-2A. Please post some photos of your Jeep!!!
