Instrument restoration

Anyone here have there instruments restored? Any recommendations of who to use?

Or how about some advice on the repop models?

How bad are yours and how perfect do you need them to look? I touched up the crackly black faces on a few of my 3A gauges with a black sharpie and unless you look real close you can't tell. Small dabs of white paint to touch up the needles worked well to. On the gauges I couldn't salvage the repops from Walck's look pretty sharp.

Mine are in pretty rough shape, the worst part is the Temp was cut, and the bulb is missing, the Oil gauge has a bent stud, and not sure any of them work.

I was looking at the repop items on various sites, and Peter DeBella has some that look really good. And, his adverts say best re pops on the market, the Temp one even has the coil wrapped around the wire to look original...

Yesterday I took mine to a local place that is very popular on the various TV shows on Velocity, and they quoted me a high price of nearly a grand...

Something like a temp guage either works or doesn't in my opinion, I would be tempted to buy a used one and touch it up. Pretty easy to take the glass out and put it back to clean up the face if you would like

I have never bought gauges from Peter but I have a 100% satisfaction rate with everything else I have purchased from him. If he claims they are the best I would be inclined to believe him.
