DATA PLATE PASSENGER SEAT
« on: January 29, 2024, 07:25:28 PM »
Hi! I've had trouble finding an answer for this question. Do you guys know if in the 1954 CJ-3B there is a Body identification plate on the back of the front passenger seat, and if so, did it have a serial number? I have seen one that specifies CJ-2A, and one that only says BODY Willys Overland.

Best,

I have not seen a data plate on the back of the passenger seat.  The seat is removable so I could imagine that wouldn't be the best place to put a serial number.  The CJ-3B Serial Number plate should be on the firewall on the passenger side (under the hood).  There may be some variations if overseas.

Hello!

Yes, I have the VIN number data plate on the firewall in the passenger side under the hood. But I’ve seen some people that have these BODY data plates as in the picture attached. So I don’t know if I should get one for my restoration or not. My car was is in Colombia, but they were very similar to the ones sold in the US.

Best,
