CJ3A body on a CJ2A Frame?

I recently acquired what I believed was a CJ3A but now I'm thinking its a CJ3A body on a 2A from and power.  Any way to tell for sure.  What cued me in was the starter.  My jeep doesn't have the foot switch.  Also, it looks like the floor was notched a little at the pedals maybe to get them to fit better.  Any info helps.  Here are a couple of photos.

From your introduction photo, I can see that you do have a 3A frame.� Edit...it could be a very late 2A frame also.  More pictures would be needed to be sure.

Over a 70 year period, many changes, parts swaps, modifications can happen.� It is uncommon to find an old Willys that hasn't gone through a number of changes.� That starter is an MZ4113...the common starter for a 2A, but it can be used in place of a standard 3A starter by adding a starter solenoid and, in some cases, a different flywheel gear.� Your engine may have also been transplanted from a 2A.

So I guess my next question is, does it really matter?  Am I going to run into any obstacles because someone may have put 2A components in a 3A.  Doesn't really sound like it will hurt.

Unless you're going for a 100% accurate restoration, it doesn't matter one bit.  With only a few exceptions, most drive train parts and body parts are interchangeable between the 2A and 3A with no modifications needed.   Again, very few are lucky enough to have all original parts on these old Willys Jeeps.  My 3As are a mix and match ranging from a GPW all the way to a CJ3B.  And I wouldn't have it any other way.
