HOBART Welder with 134 L-HEAD
« on: June 02, 2015, 06:13:38 PM »
I found this today in my recent haul of vintage books. It's a May 1958 Army HOBART WELDER MODEL GL 218S Supply Manual. Does that motor look familiar?

I knew they were used in gennys but I wasn't aware of welders. Would it still have been a Willys motor? Lots of Willys part numbers but not sure if those carried over to Kaiser etc? I'm guessing they would have. Or would it have been old Willys stock motors?

Neat diagrams either way.

There's many more but you get the idea. I may hang onto this one.

Hobart welders used new RJ prefix Willys engines.

He's going to take the L-134 out of it and put it into his pickup truck.

Im going to do a compression test on it and if the engine is good, I'll put it in until I can rebuild his original one.
