Progress on the '49!
« on: March 09, 2012, 06:24:36 PM »
Hey guys, wanted to share the progress I've made on the '49 3A since I brought it home. It now runs just as good as my '53 and drives just as well. It also had a wicked bad jeep lean, about 5. I put some springs in I had laying around. Oh and southern vehicles are so nice to work on. :) Everything came apart nicely for me. No torching or heating!

and my '53 for comparison. It sits a little higher than the '53. I think the springs I used were 1" lift.

And a few more shots. I fixed the metal brace (the welds broke) for the spare tire carrier, so I can actually use it now.

Now I'm just waiting on a seat pan for the passenger seat and I might have a temp and amp gauge coming too. Also going to order some original hose clamps and new wheel cylinders so I can get the brakes working!

Haha, Bill it says "SECURITY PATROL". And then on the tailgate, it says "DAVIS HOLLOW SECURITY PATROL". We searched Davis Hollow and it there was a marina in Tennessee. That's where we think it came from.
