Pristine 1946 CJ2 almost mine
« on: May 10, 2011, 06:44:06 PM »
A friend has a 1946 CJ2 his father bought new when he got out of the Army. He has never wanted to sell it but intended to get it running again. I visited where he worked and he told me he needs to sell it to buy a new truck.
8-) OH BOY, I said I would be interested in buying it. It has always been parked in a garage and has about 76,000 miles on it. It is completely original and has never been changed in any way. :) I was going to go look at it and take some photo's but a mutual friend that works there called and said he has decided to keep it but will let me have first shot at it if he decides to sell. :( If I bought his Jeep I may not have enough money to go West this fall but the thought of getting a near pristine Jeep was a real joy.

When I worked there part time a few years ago I had told him I wanted a CJ Jeep and he told me about his and my mouth was watering but he didn't want to sell it. It was his fathers and I think it's the only thing left of his fathers of any importance.

Well, at least I have a chance to get it someday, maybe. Never say never.

Hey Carl, "it's better to have loved and lost than have never loved at all". And of course you can't beat the thrill of the chase. ;D
