I thought I was DONE with this jeep 10 years ago and could just drive it....I always seem to find something to "improve" upon, oh well, it keeps me entertained!
Today, while cleaning up the garage after the snake incident, I found a new transfer case intermediate gear, shaft and bearings I forgot I had bought (before mortgage, marriage etc), I figured it would make a good afternoon project.
These are the old ones

The jeep has 90,000 on the ticker, I have no idea how much miles is on these parts. The t case has been whining pretty good for awhile now.
It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, remove the parking brake assy, pull the oil pan, and drive out the shaft. Driving out the shaft was the hardest part, it took some creativity to be able to do it. Also alining the bearings, gear and thrust washers took some patience. Hopefully tomorrow, I can go for a test drive.
