PAST EVENTS: / Willys cruise?

Since the Hillsboro NH trail run was a success, I was wondering how many people would be interested in doing a cruise if 4 wheeling isn't your thing? Or maybe if you missed out on the trail run and want to meet some people?

What is the most that the head on an L head can be milled down? Trying to get the most compression I can.

Does anyone have a spare flywheel kicking around for an Lhead? I need to know the diameter of it.

Well I'm a little worried about Ted. I did a compression test on him. Dry they were 75, 75, 65, 60psi. Then I did them wet. 140, 150, 125, 125 psi. What do you guys think? Time for a rebuild? I know the FSM call for the cylinders to be between 120 and 90 psi.

Does anyone here have an M38 with a complete set of top bows? I would like to see some pics of how it looks when it is all assembled. I'm going to make my own for my '49 and would like to see how the area for the door looks.

As I was yanking the '49 apart, I noticed that there are 2 styles of shifter boot retainer rings. The one on my '49 has the sides folded down. On my 53, the sides are cut straight. Both have the asterisks * stamped in them. Just one more thing to keep in mind if you are doing a 100% correct restoration.� ;)

I know that a tan colored spark plug is when the engine is tuned right and black is too rich, sooty is burning oil, but what does gray mean? This is one of the plugs from my 53 after running the dual carbs for a bit.

My 49 started to charge the battery at 50 amps today on the ride to work. I had a spare voltage regulator that I put in it and it is still doing the same thing. What could be causing this?

I putting a shopping list together for the parts I need for my '49. I have a question about the rear floor from classic enterprises.

Does it come with the holes for the rear seat clips?

I need to know the diameter of the hole in the bell crank that the bearing goes in. Thanks!

I can't remember, do the bellcranks on 3As use needle bearings or brass bushings? I can't remember when I took the one of my '53 was. I think it was a bushing but I'm not sure.

Is anyone else having issues with their repop horn button rubber? Mine expanded so it doesn't stay on the nut as well and it is starting to crack. I swapped it out with a 2A style one since I don't trust the new rubber parts. Mine is 5 years old and I'm wondering if they have gotten better?
