Quick question! Will the pistons come out the bottom? The back two pistons are seized. Im thinking taking them out the bottom would do less damage!

Pulled the head off today, aft cylinder looks like water damage, I think thats the seized piston, the head gasket doesnt look blown so ...? Wont budge. Also have difficulty getting the distributer to move, remove!

Got all the lug nuts off, will standardize the one oddball at some point down the road. Big milestone, engine is out, temperature here getting cold so things will be slowing down

Thanks for all the encouragement. Im working out of a remote garage and lots of OT lately, lining up hoist to pull the engine within the next week. Soon as I do I will post some more pix.
Stay tuned!
Greg

No tag on the carb. I already removed the air cleaner, but the original crossover tube is gone. Theres no breather port on the oil filler tube and no connection to the intake from the tap pit cover. More stuff to buy. And its a foot start starter.
Heres a curiosity, I was removing the exhaust where it connects to the header and one of the bolts is hollow! Did they run a temp probe on any of these?

My engine S/N is J190_89
I think that makes it a CJ2A engine, Family tells me the Engine was replaced. I dont see any issues setting it up as a proper CJ3A engine. As it sits, theres no oil filter, no pcv valve. already sourcing parts.
