This brings me up to about 2019, but it's worth noting that I also had the first of two shoulder surgeries, the first being rotator cuff, labrum and bicep tendon repairs. Motorcycle accident when I was 18. Recovery time was about 12 months.

Meanwhile I boxed the M38 frame, massaged the axles, and applied copious amounts of POR 15 down low. Then I started assembly with new leafs, c-shackles, discs and hardware along with a dual reservoir master cylinder and a Ross reverse steering conversion.

Hi folks!

Well, it's official, MC 21390 - the M38 to CJ3A project - is officially titled and registered in the state of CO! Here's some pictures of my multi-year retirement project.

Please note the open field in the background, as this was taken at the end of 2012!

Ouch, sorry I missed this question, I will have to spend some time on this site familiarizing as I plan to get back up to speed.

1. A previous owner had put a tank in the rear of the interior with the filler neck jutting out the rear of the "tailgate". Very sketchy!

2. The previous title and now the current title have the MC prefix on the VIN number.

3. The frame has all of the MC hallmarks, i.e. M stampings on the battery tray and forward gussets, bolted on pedal mount and grill mounts. The sad part is that someone replaced the rear floater with a CJ Dana 44 limited slip.

Again, my sincere apologies. Does better late than never still apply when it's more than 4 years late? ::)

I appreciate and agree with the input, but I ‘m staying true to the glossy dust jacket. I’ll be applying pictures from the jacket on the hood, tailgate and other body parts, and I’m looking to get the -still living author Forrest Fenn to autograph the air vent.

Good eye! I have two variations of Pantone paint from their paint sample sheet of University of Wyoming brown.The interior/underside of the pieces are all the color of the grill. The exterior/topside is the deeper color, which my wife has stated she likes better. I'll be having the grill re-sprayed with the tub after I get the holes drilled in for everything I'm mounting on it. The color scheme came from the book "The Thrill of the Chase" by Forrest Fenn, 2010.
