Yeah spot on athawk11 there are plenty of WW2 jeeps around in Australia but early cj's are rare. I'm enjoying this build the steel is really nice to weld. I have my floors ordered, and have sauced the essentials to get it going, but it looks like it was decked out with all the extras, like side steps and PTO. But both have been removed. Cheers

Hi athawk11 I'm thinking my 3a is a late 49 early 50 it doesn't have a tag, Looking at the tell tail signs. These things are really rare in Australia, it does have the importer tag.  The paint is scorched off and the floors are gone but the rest is in surprisingly good order.

Just thinking about what my options are for a top, Id like to go with an original style of top. But my 3a seems to have 2 bow mounts on the wheel house is this common. The front mounts are spot welded in and the rears are stick welded. but the rears have a reinforcement plate on the under side that is spot welded in. Which is in the correct position for a 3a. They both appear to have the same amount of paint layers.
