I had to cut one off, had nothing but trouble with them. I went to standard shackles. I would have to check my shop to see where I got them but I like em. They come with poly inserts, shackles and grade 8 hardware.

I realize this is an old thread, but how did this work out and did you take any pictures?

Project Page for all other Jeeps / M38 Fender
« on: March 09, 2016, 10:58:25 PM »
Not sure that I have this in the correct spot so Admin please feel free to move this if needed.

I am looking for some pictures of stock M38 front fenders, I really need the right one, passenger side, right now but will need the left one, drivers side, soon.  I have some fenders but they all have a lot of mounting holes in them and no two are alike. I'd like to fill the holes I don't need and keep the other one. I am not talking about the holes to mount the fenders to the tub but holes to mount things to the fenders.

Thanks

I have done a little work but mostly still gathering parts. I have sent the fenders and grill out and had them blasted and primed with red oxide and the tailgate and windshield frame will go out soon. I repaired the tailgate. I also bought a repo M38 tub, I just couldn't find one that I could justify spending the money on and still have to repair. I picked up a couple of 225's one running and one with a automatic transmission. I need the auto because of damage to my back from a helo crash I was in. Anyway I will start a thread latter and keep it updated.

By the way there seems to be a lot of Mainers on here.

OOOH, SNAP!!! You dog!! I remember drooling over this the first time you spotted it. Now you have a summer driver and a winter driver! It's Karma...You're one of those good guys. Good things happen to good folks! Congratulations.

He gave it to you? Man!

The engine head is WWII or VEC 2A. The radiator might be also. Have you found a serial # yet? What is the block casting #? What's the delivery date?

I'm jealous, but extremely happy for you.

Tim

How did you know that the head was from WWII from the picture? If this is the same Ryan I bought some M38 parts from I have seen this Willys and it is/was beautiful.

Ryan, on your chains don't just use bungee cords get the chain tension, it is designed to self adjust as the tire rolls. Also the chains work great on the front but might be harder to steer without power steering.

Will the springs be too stiff, are you removing any of the leaves?

I'd like more info about the V6 install. I plan on putting one in my M38 and could use the help. Pictures of the motor mounts as well as the other mounts would be great.

Thanks Skip
