Here's a pretty informative write-up and original Willys service bulletins to help identify that Willys barn find you just discovered.

http://circlekf.com/kfhandbook/kfoci handbook-pdf files/KFOCI HANDBOOK VERSION 4.0/Willys Product Information/Willys identification tags.pdf

I tried to upload the actual PDF here but the file size exceeded the site's limitation. Not sure if it would be appropriate for a moderator to permanently post it somewhere on the 3A page or not.

This link is dead.  Does anyone know the updated website?

Not sure if you will be able to tell in the picture, but my right side tie rod assembly seems to be bent, is that factory? I am assuming that its not supposed to be bent...

When you say right side, are you talking drivers side?  I believe mine is bent as well.  Hmmmmmm  :-?

I have a partial copy of it.

Here is the answer of Karl when i asked him about the future of his site;

Hello Pascal,

Thank you for the interest, but I am not interested in selling the website. I understand that you and many others would like to see it back online, but from my perspective, it was time to take it down. It's not a matter of losing interest, needing money, or requiring technical help. It's just time. That's the only way I can explain it.

I did not renew my rights to the URL, so that is up for grabs to anybody who wants it and is willing to pay for it. The content is copyrighted as mine, however, so I respectfully request that it not be reposted anywhere, whether at the old URL or elsewhere.

Sorry I do not have a more satisfying response for you.

Best Regards,

Karl

That is pretty poor on him to keep that knowledge locked away for no one else to benefit from.   ::)

Yes, if you click on the link, you will get something. That something is a Google warning. The Vernco site has been infected with junk in the near past. His ISP appears to be doing nothing to fix it.

Here is the analasys of the infections:

"What is the current listing status for vernco.com?
Site is listed as suspicious - visiting this web site may harm your computer.
Part of this site was listed for suspicious activity 2 time(s) over the past 90 days.

What happened when Google visited this site?
Of the 192 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 95 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2013-10-14, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2013-10-14.

Malicious software includes 125 exploit(s).

Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of malware?
Over the past 90 days, vernco.com did not appear to function as an intermediary for the infection of any sites.

Has this site hosted malware?
No, this site has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days."

It seems to be self-contradictory as it says it has "not hosted malicious software" yet it also says "resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent"

So I'd say don't go there unless you're running some form of Linux on your machine. The malware is Windows based so Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE, etc. are immune.

I'll keep checking it periodically. If his ISP gets it cleaned up, I'll pull a copy for archive.

This is interesting.  I wonder who his ISP is.  I am not sure but it sounds to me like the site itself is not "hosting" malware, or trying to distribute it to other computers, yet whoever / whatever is hosting this site is infected with malware.  I have had this happen to me in the past where my computer got infected and my ISP blocked me from internet traffic as not to spread the virus.

I know this is really old but I'm new to the forums and would have really liked to see that site.

Any chance we can see a video to hear it run?  I've never liked the sound of v6's with exhaust but it may be better in a Willys  ;D

Joe, feel free to get with me here in Claremore. It's only a short drive. You can take a ride in and climb all over mine which will both help you get familure with what it should be as well as hopefully keep you motivated. Mine was not that bad, but it was still a full body off frame rebuild.

Thank you!  That would be a big help.
