Small magnets close to the letters will help hold the tailgate stencil tight to the metal. Strip magnet from an old refrigerator door gasket works good for this. You still get some creep but it eliminates blow by.

Mice?
Not sure if your Jeep sat idle for any length of time.  I've taken apart a few donor Jeeps in the past and the bell housing seems to be a magnet for the little critters. It's amazing how much stuff they can drag in there, even over the course of a few months.

Pretty big puddle under differential after sitting for a couple days. It definitely seems to be coming from this .125" hole. I'm wondering if this hole was bored during the manufacturing process and then a pin/plug installed which has fallen out? I tapped in a small wooden (Bubba) plug to see if this stops the drip.

It is a Dana 44.
I put the new seal in and took it for a 20 mile ride. I slid some cardboard under and am waiting for the results. ;)

I replaced the rear pinion seal today which was leaking pretty badly. As I was cleaning up around the seal before removal, I noticed this hole. It almost looks as if the oil was leaking from there. The hole seems to penetrate the bottom lip of the seal recess. What is the purpose of the hole?

It's not really an upgrade to go from a 9" 3A drum to a 9" 3B drum. Although they adjust differently, they both perform the same IMHO :). If you would like to increase stopping ability, here's a link to the 3B page for upgrading to 11" drums- http://cj3b.info/Tech/Brakes11inch.html
You might want to convert to a dual reservoir master cylinder as well.

That looks like the ticket.  :)

I changed tranny & T case today and it was dirty but not brassy. I used the small pump in the picture below on a 1 gallon jug of the Nappa meneral oil. It took forever to fill the cases. Does anybody have a better method to pump the oil in?

Thanks for posting that link. I've been planning to change the tranny fluid in my CJ3B which was in there when I bought it. Definately a little nervous as to what might drain out. :o

Here's a link to a horn repair article on the Vernco site.
Lots of good stuff on his site.

Nice job! You salvaged original hardware and saved $60 for a repop pair in the process.

John, this heater came from a friend of mine who sold his Jeep and traded his spare parts collection to me for some boat parts. This came from a CJ2A donor Jeep used on his project. I'm not sure of its age but it is 6 volt and the motor does run. Maybe someone on the site will know what it might have been original to.
I'm looking for $50 + shipping if you or anyone else are interested.

Here's a link to a Willys paint chart on Ebay. I bought one for my 54 3B and had Nasson match the color. It blended in very well with the original paint still on the firewall. I never did get my dang paint chart back though.
